I founded ecoPreserve, a sustainability and resiliency consulting company in 2009. We work with municipalities, universities and hospitals on planning and implementation of projects related to resource reduction. We have a staff of 20, many are on-call specialists, ranging in age from 21 to 73.

Q: What advice would you give to people in midlife who want to transition to a green job?

Looks for a mission-based company with solid core values.

Q: What are the skills that you believe will be required most in the short-medium term in your industry?

I need planners (resiliency), engineers (grid integration and microgrid design), and knowledgeable consultative sales staff.
