Q: Tell us about your organization.
For the last 22 years, AES solar has been operating as the only 100% local, 100% solar installer in southern Illinois.
Q: What advice would you give to people in midlife who want to transition to a green job?
There are many options to work in our industry so don’t be focused just on being an installer/electrician. About 50% of our employees are electricians while the rest are project managers and sales as well as office staff.
Skills needed are technicians, sales, marketing, management.
Q: What are the skills that you believe will be required most in the short-medium term in your industry?
Basic knowledge is needed.
