A useful learning and networking opportunity (and something to put on your CV): the Climate Literacy & Action Training free online course starting June 16.

Are you curious about Sustainable Development Goals? Are you concerned about climate change? Would you like to learn what you can change in your life and work to make an impact? Upcoming Climate Literacy & Action Training CLT-ECOS equips you with the tools for high-impact changes in your professional & social environment – after five sessions you’ll have knowledge and skills needed to influence research & teaching, legal initiatives or consultancy work, reducing carbon emissions & addressing multiple other Sustainable Development Goals.

The training will take place on the following Thursdays: 16, 23, 30 June, 7 and 14 July, 11:00-13:00 GMT+1

A certificate is awarded upon full participation across five weeks and completion of the individual project, issued by The Carbon Literacy Project.

Five sessions cover:

  1. Positive futures scenarios and Climate Justice
  2. Climate Science and the matching high impact climate solutions
  3. Carbon calculation and individual action
  4. Climate Change Mitigation: a systems approach
  5. Work in groups and your own Action Plan

The course will be delivered by Dr. Petra Molthan-Hill, Chair of the UN PRME Working Group on Climate Change & Environment, Professor at Nottingham Business School, UK; Editor of the “Business Student’s Guide to Sustainable Management”, Routledge, in collaboration with the QS World Merit Charity and international expert facilitators.

CLT-ECOS was developed by Nottingham Business School, Nottingham Trent University, in collaboration with the UN PRME Champions, Oikos International and the Carbon Literacy Project. It also includes an introduction to En-ROADS developed by Climate Interactive in collaboration with MIT Sloan and Ventana Systems. The course has won multiple awards, including the most recent – Gold in Sustainability category at QS-Wharton Reimagine Education Global Awards 2021.
