How can AI help protect and sustain global forest ecosystems?: free webinar, November 3

A useful learning and networking opportunity for anyone interested in climate tech: The How can AI help protect and sustain global forest ecosystems? free webinar on November 3.

Our forests are burning, and biodiversity is in decline. In light of recent catastrophic events, climate change is threatening a core pillar of our world – the global forest ecosystem.

The primary forest area worldwide has reportedly decreased by over 80 million hectares since 1990 due to threats such as illegal logging, invasive species, and increased wildfires.

To address this global problem, we need global solutions and cross collaboration – in order to include effective governance, integrated polices, awareness and monitoring of resources through advanced technologies. The combination of strong data points and artificial intelligence (AI) can help predict, mitigate and respond to forest disturbances, and enable more effective and sustainable forest management.

Technology, and particularly AI, can help support the response by public services, governments and citizens to threats. In this session, Capgemini experts, public organizations and business stakeholders will explore how AI capacities can enable us to observe, analyse, and defend our global forests. It will include experiences and concrete use-cases to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to protecting global forest ecosystems.
