Good Green Jobs Growth with GovTech: free webinar, March 14

A useful learning and networking opportunity: The Good Green Jobs Growth with GovTech free webinar on March 14.

As local governments grapple with staying resilient and adaptable in the face of climate change, one under-developed area remains. Both climate change and our response to it will radically transform the shape of the workforce. Not just renewable-energy engineers and building retrofits for efficiency, but parks, facilities, education, transit, planning, development, and procurement workers and officials will all be forced to make major changes to how they do their jobs.

Climate-Resilient Employees for a Sustainable Tomorrow (“CREST”) is a five-year, $25 million career preparation and reskilling initiative of the Ares Charitable Foundation that aims to close the gap between the demand for a skilled workforce for green jobs and the number of people prepared for these opportunities. In the U.S., CREST will help at least 25,000 people enter high-opportunity, high-wage green jobs and reach a minimum of 100,000 individuals through exposure or training. In this webinar, we will preview some of the preliminary results of Jobs for the Future’s intensive insights as a CREST partner on good green jobs and the future of sustainable, climate-resilient jobs. Whether coming from an economic development, or sustainability focus, the information and discussion featured here will help make sure you are prepared for growth in the good green future of work.
